A remarkable matched pair of Victorian pedestal comports by W.T. Copeland & Sons, precisely dated to 1880 and crafted during the height of the Aesthetic Movement. The cobalt blue transferware design reflects the era’s fascination with Japonisme, featuring asymmetrical folding fans, delicate bird vignettes, and geometric borders inspired by traditional Asian motifs. Their elevated pedestal form creates a striking silhouette, making them ideal as symmetrical centerpieces or statement accents on a sideboard or mantel. A rare survival, both pieces remain together after more than 140 years, each retaining crisp pattern detail and a rich, time‑earned presence.
