Homer Laughlin Eggshell Nautilus Teapot – Custom Blue and Silver Finish
This Eggshell Nautilus teapot brings a soft, mid‑century elegance with its lightweight porcelain body and custom two‑tone blue and silver finish.
Made by the Homer Laughlin China Company, this piece comes from the Eggshell Nautilus line introduced in 1937, known for its refined, thin‑walled construction fired in Newell, West Virginia. The mark J 45 N 5 dates this teapot to 1945, a period when Homer Laughlin was one of the largest and most influential American dinnerware producers. Its later custom‑painted spray design adds a unique, contemporary layer to the classic Nautilus silhouette, blending collectible history with artistic reinterpretation.
Dimensions are 6.5" tall and 6.25" diameter at the widest part of the body.
Condition note: There are no chips or cracks, though paint flakes are missing under the lid on the inner rim, exposing the white body beneath.
