Ce plat de collection en porcelaine fine apporte une présence chaleureuse et narrative avec une scène de l'époque coloniale de Norman Rockwell, encadrée par une bordure dorée légèrement réfléchissante.
L'œuvre, intitulée Sign of the Times, fait partie de la série de Rockwell intitulée « Colonials: The Rarest Rockwells », qui capture les études de personnages expressives et l'humour doux qui ont défini les dernières œuvres illustratives de Rockwell. Produite par la Edwin M. Knowles China Company en 1988, cette assiette a été la septième pièce de la série et a été émise en édition limitée, avec une période de cuisson de 150 jours. Knowles était largement reconnu pour la haute qualité de sa porcelaine américaine, et ses collaborations avec la Rockwell Society ont contribué à faire de ces assiettes des objets de collection durables.
