Cette assiette de collection en porcelaine fine apporte une présence chaleureuse et narrative avec la scène de l'époque coloniale de Norman Rockwell encadrée par une bordure dorée légèrement réfléchissante.
L'œuvre, intitulée Portrait for a Bridegroom, fait partie de la série Colonials: The Rarest Rockwells de Rockwell, capturant les études de caractères expressives et la narration intime qui ont défini l'œuvre illustrative ultérieure de Rockwell. Produite par la Edwin M. Knowles China Company en 1987, cette assiette a été la quatrième pièce de la série et a été publiée en édition limitée, restreinte à une période de cuisson de 150 jours. Knowles était largement réputée pour sa porcelaine américaine de haute qualité, et ses collaborations avec la Rockwell Society ont contribué à faire de ces assiettes des objets de collection durables.
