“Mountainscape Mini" - Hand‑Painted Silk Wall Hanging
This hand‑painted silk artwork reflects the rich, shifting colors of Maine’s Rangeley Lakes Region in summer—deep greens, layered blues, and the constantly changing light that moves across the water and sky. The compact size makes it easy to place in nearly any room, bringing a touch of the North Woods into your home.
Created with permanent textile dyes that are steam‑set for longevity, the piece measures 12 x 12 inches overall. As with all silk artwork, it is best displayed out of direct sunlight to preserve color over time.
Artist Carol Sullivan’s work is shaped by a lifetime spent around boats, coastal travel, and the shifting moods of nature, which she interprets through sea, sky, flora, and fauna. Her silk‑dye process ranges from loose and impressionistic to controlled and detailed, with constant experimentation keeping her work fresh and evolving. A graduate of the Maryland Institute College of Art, she has developed unique textile techniques—including gyotaku fish printing—and her fabric art has been featured in galleries in Maryland, Maine, and the Bahamas with an international following.
