La collection Rockwell Heritage, produite par la Edwin M. Knowles China Company de 1977 au début des années 1990, a été la première série officiellement autorisée d'assiettes en édition limitée à reproduire les œuvres de Norman Rockwell. Cette édition de 1980, The Ship Builder, est la quatrième assiette de la série et représente un artisan sculptant la coque d'un modèle de navire, entouré d'outils disposés sur son espace de travail. La surface en porcelaine met en valeur l'illustration par décalcomanie détaillée et la présentation décorative de l'assiette.
