Cette assiette de collection en porcelaine fine apporte une présence chaleureuse et narrative avec une scène de l'époque coloniale de Norman Rockwell encadrée par une bordure dorée légèrement réfléchissante.
L'œuvre d'art, intitulée The Unexpected Proposal (La demande en mariage inattendue), est le premier numéro de la série « Rockwell’s Colonials: The Rarest Rockwells » de Rockwell, capturant les études de personnages expressives et la narration douce qui ont défini les dernières œuvres illustratives de Rockwell. Produite par la société Edwin M. Knowles China Company en 1986, cette assiette a été éditée en édition limitée, sa période de cuisson étant restreinte à 150 jours.
