The Rockwell Heritage Collection, produced by the Edwin M. Knowles China Company from 1977 through the early 1990s, was the first officially authorized series of limited‑edition plates to reproduce Norman Rockwell’s artwork. This 1980 release, The Ship Builder, is the fourth plate in the series and depicts a craftsman carving the hull of a model ship, surrounded by tools arranged across his workspace. The porcelain surface highlights the detailed transfer illustration and the plate’s decorative presentation.
