About this item
This fine‑china collector plate brings a warm, sentimental presence with Norman Rockwell’s scene of a grandfather carefully staining a handmade wooden cradle, a tribute to the quiet joys of the golden years.
The artwork, titled Grandpa’s Gift, appears as the first issue in Rockwell’s 1987 Golden Moments series, celebrating reflective, intergenerational moments rendered with Rockwell’s signature emotional clarity. Produced by the Edwin M. Knowles China Company, the plate was released as a limited edition restricted to a 150‑day firing period and finished with softly reflective gold trim. Knowles’ collaborations with the Rockwell Society helped establish these plates as enduring collectibles, valued for their craftsmanship and faithful color reproduction. This example includes its original Certificate of Authenticity and is numbered 5223D.
Dimensions are approximately 8.5" diameter.
