About this item
This porcelain tea and snack set brings sculptural charm and mid‑century artistry to relaxed hosting and everyday display.
Designed in 1963 by artist Belle Monez, this set pairs a leaf‑shaped luncheon tray with a matching teacup, each piece shaped with soft scalloping and finished in ornate gold gilding. The recessed cup ring anchors the teacup securely, leaving the plate open for pastries or small bites, a format often called a tennis or luncheon set. Mid‑century porcelain artists frequently experimented with molded filigree handles during this period, blending decorative flourish with functional form. The yellow floral motif at the center adds a warm, hand‑painted note that complements the sculptural silhouette. Set of six.
Dimensions are luncheon plate 10" long x 8.5" wide; teacup 2.5" tall x 3" diameter.
Condition note: Due to the age of this vintage piece, there is some crazing but does not take away from the beauty or usefulness.
