Das Kunstwerk mit dem Titel Portrait for a Bridegroom erscheint in Rockwells Serie Colonials: The Rarest Rockwells und fängt die ausdrucksstarken Charakterstudien und intimen Erzählungen ein, die Rockwells spätere illustrierte Arbeiten prägten. Der 1987 von der Edwin M. Knowles China Company hergestellte Teller wurde als viertes Stück der Serie und als limitierte Auflage mit einer Brenndauer von 150 Tagen herausgegeben. Knowles war weithin bekannt für sein hochwertiges amerikanisches Porzellan, und die Zusammenarbeit mit der Rockwell Society trug dazu bei, diese Teller als dauerhafte Sammlerstücke zu etablieren. Dieses Exemplar enthält sein Original-Echtheitszertifikat und ist mit der Nummer 1505A versehen.
